Granaio (the barn) was built in the nineteenth century, inhabited, abandoned and partly collapsed. At the end of the twentieth century we have acquired and slowly restored the building, with the help of volunteers and patient self-construction. We used only local natural materials, stone, wood and earth.
The main purpose of Granaio is hosting visitors that come to Granara's workshops: summer adventure camps, SCI camps, Granara Theatre Festival, student trainings... Besides that, Granaio can be used by any other individuals or groups who want to come and experience sustainable life in Granara.
Granaio offers bedrooms for 20 guests, a large kitchen and dining room and a spacious hall for workshops.
